Honiara, Solomon Islands – March 5, 2025 – The Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI) proudly announced the promotion of four dedicated officers in the Commissioner’s Parade held this morning at the Correctional Headquarters in Rove, Honiara.

The officers were recognized for their outstanding service, dedication, and commitment to their responsibilities in maintaining the integrity and security of the Correctional system.

The following officers received promotions:

  • Inspector Thompson Pada was promoted to the rank of Superintendent.
  • Senior Sergeant Ben Taluvunagi was promoted to the rank of Inspector.
  • Sergeant Joses Amanaki was promoted to the rank of Senior Sergeant.
  • Correctional Officer Edward Waifo was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Commissioner of Correctional Services Solomon Islands, Mactus Forau, congratulated the officers on their well-earned achievements and commended their unwavering dedication.

“The work our officers do every day to ensure the safety and security of our Correctional facilities is extraordinary. Their commitment and professionalism contribute significantly to the positive changes within the Correctional system and to the broader community of the Solomon Islands,” says Commissioner Forau.

“I am incredibly proud of the impact our officers have made on our organization and their continued service to the people and Government of Solomon Islands. Working in Corrections is challenging, yet through their steadfast leadership and dedication, they strive to improve the lives of those in their care and maintain safe and secure Correctional Centres.”

Superintendent Thompson Pada expressed gratitude on behalf of the promoted officers, acknowledging the trust and confidence placed in them by the CSSI leadership.
