THE Supervising Director of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Fire and Rescue Services, James Ketaru, has expressed deep gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their generous donation of three fire trucks to the RSIPF Fire Service.

This donation was officially recognized during a grant contract signing ceremony at the Japanese Embassy in Honiara.

In his speech, Mr. Ketaru thanked Japan for its continued support of the RSIPF Fire Service, acknowledging that this was not the first time the government of Japan had assisted the force. He recalled a previous donation of a fire pump truck made late last year, emphasizing the ongoing partnership between the two nations.

“This generous donation will significantly boost our fire and emergency response capabilities. It will help save lives, protect government and private properties, and enhance the overall safety of Honiara and surrounding areas,” said Mr. Ketaru.

The donation of the three fire trucks is part of Japan’s broader support for public safety initiatives in the Solomon Islands, further demonstrating Japan’s commitment to improving emergency response services in the country.

Mr. Ketaru acknowledged the crucial role these donations play in ensuring the readiness of emergency services and expressed his sincere appreciation for Japan’s continued generosity in enhancing the safety and well-being of Solomon Islanders.
