THE ongoing battle against covid-19 in the country has been successful so far with the support of donor partners since the start of the global pandemic.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare continues to commend donor partners and private sector organization for their tremendous efforts in supporting the fight in his weekly national address last week.
In the final weeks of 2021, the Ministry of Health received essential life-saving marine equipment from the government of New Zealand comprising 300 life jackets and 300 raincoats.
“Thank you, New Zealand. Your timely support during our wet season will ensure the safety of our staff as they continue to rollout our COVID-19 vaccination programs in all the provinces,” Sogavare said.
He added, the government of Australia, SPC, and WHO provided important office and communication gadgets such as laptops, iPad, projectors, and digital cameras. These gadgets will further assist the Ministry of health in its work.
The support will strengthen internal and external communications of the Ministry to ensure all COVID-19 related activities and information are captured, documented, reported, and disseminated to all stakeholders in a timely manner to guide necessary actions on the field.
With 25 positive COVID 19 cases recorded date, there are no single community transmission since the pandemic started.
