Blessed Easter greetings my fellow Solomon Islanders at home and abroad.
Easter is here again. It gives us new hope for new life.
I begin by congratulating all Solomon Islanders on the festivity of this year’s Eastertide. We rejoice together in celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Easter means many things to different people, but to us, it signifies the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, redemption over condemnation, and hope over despair, and an enduring hope for humanity.
Today, I wish you all God’s peace that is beyond human understanding, as you gather with your families, loved ones, and friends over the Easter weekend to remember our Lord’s sacrificial death and resurrection.
On behalf of my family and my Government, I extend best wishes to our Christian community and to the entire nation for a Happy and Holy Easter 2022.
Hallelujah! Christ our Lord has risen!
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a message of new beginnings, renewed hope, restoration and salvation for humanity.
Fellow citizens, the last 12 months has been the toughest for our nation. COVID 19 has seriously affected our economy, export earnings and revenue. All of us had felt this new level of pain like never before.
In these challenging and uncertain times, I pray that you experience the peace and love of our never-failing God this Easter.
Fellow citizens, it is more than two years now since our beloved country felt the impact of the global COVID 19 pandemic. Many have experienced the suffering and hardship that is caused by this virus and many still suffer as celebrate Easter this year.
In spite of the hardship that we experienced in the past few years, there is no doubt that this Easter season remains special. It is a time to remember Christ’s sacrificial love and triumph over sin and death.
Fellow Solomon Islanders, eternal life is our gift from God when we accept in His gift to us, His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour.
As we celebrate the resurrection of our risen Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, let us lift our Prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving to our Great God, He has been our Captain and our Guide throughout this year.
The message of Easter also reminds us of the demonstration of God’s sacrificial love for us. In our context, Solomon Islands owes its current state of peace, security, and economic wellbeing to the timely support from members of our Pacific family led by Australia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and New Zealand during the darkest days in our short history as a nation.
We are also grateful to our other bilateral partners, Japan, People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom, United States, and our many regional and international organisations.
We pray for God’s blessing and protection to our frontliners manning our international borders, laboratories, quarantine stations and isolation centres and their families as they continue to protect our people and our country.
We thank God for our development partners as they continue to support and assist our people and country.
To our churches, thank you for continually uplifting the hopes of our people through your continued prayers, praise, and worship.
To members of my Cabinet, and the Government Caucus, thank you for the unity and solidarity that has allowed our government to continue to serve and protect our country and our people.
To all our families, thank you for all your enduring support and prayers in our service to our nation.
We are reminded of the Easter Message that if we fix our eyes on the Almighty God, and trust Him, He will bless us, He will guide us, and He will protect us under his wings. He will give us His peace.
