There were smiles, cheers, and deepest reflections as St Nicholas Anglican College celebrated its 21st Graduation Ceremony last Friday at the School Hall.

The ceremony was a moment of joy and pride — not only for the students, but also for the wider school community that continues to shape young lives with vision and faith.

Under the theme “Success to Tolerance, Religiosity, Innovation, Value and Excellence,” the event brought together teachers, parents, families, and partners to honor the achievements of the graduating students and the growth of the school over the past year.

In his keynote speech, Principal John Patteson spoke passionately about the dreams, strengths, and challenges of the institution.

“We are dreaming to be fulfilling the training of a whole person — a person who contributes meaningfully to his surroundings and beyond,” said Mr. Patteson.

He said the college is guided by strong Christian values and committed to building a productive learning environment that nurtures not only academic excellence, but also faith and character.

Reflecting on the year’s progress, the principal praised the uniqueness and commitment of teachers, students, parents, and school partners.

“The school saw so many strengths this year; be it academically or in terms of sports, cultural and choral events, organized speech events,” he shared.

He acknowledged the support of key stakeholders including MEHRD, ACOM, DOCM, MAL, the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions, JICA, and many others.

However, the principal also spoke openly about the challenges facing the school — especially overcrowding, which has prompted the ACOM Education Authority to implement a no transfer policy for 2026.

“This is not easy,” Mr. Patteson said. “You have to have someone backing you every step of the way.”

He thanked all those who continue to support the school, from government departments and education partners to local businesses and parents.

To the graduating students, he offered words of encouragement:

“Thank you for making the best version of yourselves. We wish you all the best in your exam classes.”
