New Noro police station.

The Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Mr. Mostyn Mangau, has encouraged officers of the RSIPF to take good care of the new Noro police station after the official opening and handing over.

The encouragement came after the handing over of the new modern facility police station on 10 November 2025 to the RSIPF to service the people of Western Province, especially in Noro town.

Commissioner Mangau said, “My good officers, please maintain the facility to ensure it serves its purpose effectively. This new police station enhances operational efficiency and accessibility to serve our communities.”

“Taking good care of this new police will better support the community and enhance community safety in the Western Province,” Mangau said.

He said the police station is a gift from the people of Australia, and we should be proud of it. Do respect the station, as it is your workstation on a daily basis.

“My good people in the Western province, please work together with RSIPF officers who will be posted and take care of this facility. Officers are here to provide services to you, my good people,” Mr. Mangau said.

“Together, we can create a better environment for everyone,” he added, urging the locals to engage positively with the officers assigned to look after the new police station.

The police chief emphasized the importance of working together between the community and police to ensure the safety of our communities. It is very important for the community to support police in maintaining law and order in our communities.

The Commissioner also thanked the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) for facilitating the whole project, which is another boost for the policing in Western Province.

A few months ago we also witnessed the Solomon Island government handing over the Maka police station in South Malaita. This is how concerned police are to provide services to the people of the Solomon Islands.
