Chairman of Caucus and Member of Parliament for West Honiara Constituency Honorable Namson Tran has condemned and called out Matthew Wale ‘A Liar.’
Tran made this assertion after a Press Statement by the opposition leader earlier where Hon Matthew Wale urged the Australian Government to investigate Australian Federal Police’s (AFP) dealings with Hon. Tran.
In the Opposition Statement, Wale pointed out that AFP should clarify their business deals with Hon. Tran on this property as it clearly jeopardises AFP’s mission here in Solomon Islands. If AFP is striking deals with government MPs then it surely compromises their work here,” he said.
Hon Wale said Canberra should seriously look into the matter to avoid compromising AFP’s independence in Solomon Islands.
However, in a statement sighted in the Media today by Hon. Tran said contrary to claims by Wale that he bought the prime Tandai land from the government for a meagre SBD $28,000 under the leadership of Hon Danny Phillip, the FTE Land was acquired legally and lawfully for approximately SBD$200,000 in 2011.
“All information with regard to the FTE Land in Tandai, West Honiara is public information and available with the Commissioner of Lands Office where details can be easily verified,” The Statement said.
It furthers that Last Year the Australian Federal Police themselves initiated and approached Hon. Tran with the intention to lease his property to build amenities so with official approval by the Commissioner of Lands, a legally drafted tenancy agreement was drafted by a qualified and reputable Law Firm in Honiara where a monthly Lease determined by the market value then of SBD $26,000 per month was agreed to.
“The Lease agreement was signed where a monthly Withholding Tax of 10% of SBD $26,000 is paid monthly to the Solomon Islands Government.
“Wales desperate lies and irresponsible persona who would stop at nothing unfortunately to misinform the Public and garner support for a continuous Anti-Government campaign by making falsified statements to the media.
“Furthermore All claims in the Press Release by Matthew Wale of an Offshore Overseas account and of $200,000 per month of rent as claimed are outrageously a Lie by Matthew Wale and goes to show the character of Mr. Wale who will deliberately lie and stoop so low, disregarding commonsense & stopping at nothing in an attempt to falsely tarnish anybody he considers a threat even in undermining stability of a country.
“Unfortunately for Wale he proves himself to be petty minded when he has the audacity to question and rubbish the reputation of the Australian Government and reputable organization’s like the Australian Federal Police, claiming their involvement in some cooked up conspiracy.
“Matthew Wale need to seek help & wisdom from a fatherly figure who would tell him that it is wrong to live a life of Lies and to continue to feed his insatiable ego, misleading the public, where sadly Wale’s legacy of lies speaks for itself, a desperate man shown to be wanting,” The Statement said.
