With the support of the Rotary Club of Hall, in Canberra Australia, Rotary International, and Solomon Airlines, the team flew from Brisbane to Honiara on 7th May and will work with the NRH teams for the next week.

During their previous visit to Honiara in December 2022, the specialist team attended to 61 children on their first day and during their 7-day stay, successfully operated on 34 children.

Chief of the Mission, Professor Geoffrey Croaker, is accompanied by Dr Rajay Rampersad, Anaesthetist Dr Sarah Latham, Theatre Nurse Mrs Lisa Hazell, and RN Elizabeth Hearn.

Solomon Airlines added its support to the effort, flying their equipment and medical supplies from Australia.

The highly regarded surgical team will again work with the National Referral Hospital, to attend to children with complex urinary and gastro-intestinal medical issues as well as general surgical problems.

Paediatric surgery teams from the Canberra Hospital first started visiting Honiara in 2015, performing up to 30 operations during each visit.
