The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs, Solomon Islands, and Homes Of Peace and Empowerment (HOPE), today launched a new project aimed at combating human trafficking. The project, titled “Strengthening Shelter and Protection Services for Victims of Trafficking in Solomon Islands,” is supported by the U.S. Department of State Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons.

The initiative will focus on providing victim-centered protection and assistance to survivors of trafficking through three key areas: enhancing and establishing protective shelter facilities, strengthening the capacity of shelter providers to offer survivor-centered and trauma-informed case management services, and increasing victims’ access to sustainable reintegration support. The project represents a significant step forward in the fight against human trafficking in the Solomon Islands.
