COLLIN Potakana, the Election Manager for Western Province, expresses his deep appreciation to the voters throughout the province for their unwavering support, which played a crucial role in the success of the recent election.

Speaking on behalf of the Western Province Election Manager, Potakana extends his sincere gratitude to the public for their active participation during the polling day.

“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the voters who diligently followed the electoral process during this year’s election,” Potakana states.

He also extends his congratulations to the elected Members of Parliament (MPs) across the province and commends the voters who cast their ballots on April 17, 2024.

“I congratulate those who emerged as winners in the election, as well as the candidates who participated in this year’s contest,” Potakana adds.

Potakana further expresses his gratitude to the counting officials who worked tirelessly under pressure to ensure a well-organized electoral process. He emphasizes the significance of adhering to the electoral procedures and meeting all the requirements during the counting process.

“While we understand that many people eagerly awaited the election results during the counting period, I would like to thank everyone for their patience and for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere throughout the result process,” Potakana remarks.

He acknowledges the challenging circumstances faced by the election officials and expresses his gratitude to the public, particularly the voters in the nine constituencies of the province, for their patience.

Potakana also highlights the smooth announcement of results without any major incidents. He extends his thanks to all the elected members and wishes them a safe and successful journey in their new roles.

Potakana expresses his appreciation to the Gizo Police and the Assistance Defense Force for their invaluable contributions in ensuring security throughout the electoral process. Their dedication and professionalism promoted peace and harmony in the province.

He further acknowledges the significant roles played by individuals whose contributions were instrumental in making this year’s election a success, even if their names were not explicitly mentioned.

Potakana later expressed his gratitude to all the media outlets in the country for effectively informing the citizens of the Solomon Islands about this historic joint election, which resulted in the selection of 50 Members of Parliament to represent the people.
