THE Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) has yesterday launched a new look and official website.

The launch event took place at the Electoral Commission’s first media briefing for journalists covering the 2024 joint election at the SIEC communication center in Central Plaza.

In his official remarks, SIEC Chief Electoral Officer Jasper Highwood Anisi told local journalists that the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) is proud to introduce its new website, https://siec.gov.sb/, and that it does so with a feeling of responsibility.

“This digital platform stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to transparency, accessibility, and the empowerment of voters in our nation,” the CEO said.

He said that the website is designed with the user in mind, ensuring an intuitive, informative, and seamless experience for everyone.

The CEO also said it will serve as the server and the cornerstone for all electoral resources, providing comprehensive details on the joint election, voter registration, electoral processes, and upcoming electoral events.

“It is intended to be a one-stop portal where citizens, including the media, youth, and tertiary students, can find insightful updates and compressive information about their electoral rights and duties,” the CEO said.

He said the website also provides quick access to our polling station locator, the Joint Election Statistics (www.solomonelections.net).

The CEO said the website has key features: user-friendly navigation, comprehensive voter information, election insights, educational resources, and accessibility.

“In developing this website and continuing to enhance it, we have willingly embraced the latest technologies to provide a robust platform that will serve Solomon Island voters for years to come. We see this as a key and significant step in our progression to have a digital bridge connecting the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission with all voters,” the CEO said.

The CEO later acknowledged the key organizations and partners that helped made the event possible on Friday.
