THE reelected Member of Parliament for the Ulawa Ugi constituency in Makira Ulawa province has acknowledged his constituents for their bold decision to have him re-instated to lead them again in the next four years.

In an interview, Hon. Willie Bradford Marau expresses his acknowledgement to his constituents for still having their trust in his leadership to continue his endeavor to lead them in his third consecutive term as their MP elect.

“I would like to convey my sincere gratitude and acknowledge my good people in the Ulawa Ugi constituency for having me reelected to lead and serve them in the next four fours again, and I appreciate the continuous trust and confidence that you still have in me,”  he says.

On the same note, Hon. Marau calls on his people to work together with him so they can implement their development plans and visions for their constituency, which were highlighted during his campaigns in the constituency.

“My humble request now for the good people of Ulawa and Ugi is for us to work together, as one people, to implement the development plans and visions we have for our people and constituency,”  he adds.

Hon. Marau also acknowledges other candidates who have also contested with him who have shown interest in leading and have development aspirations for the constituency to work together with him in the next four years for the development of their constituency.

“I also would like to acknowledge other candidates who have shown interest in taking up the leadership role for our people, and I would like to humbly urge them to work with me in pooling our ideas together to develop our constituency because I know they too have good plans for our constituency, and by working together, I believe we can raise the standard of development and living for our people and constituency,”  Hon. Marau says.

Willie Bradford Marau was first elected as the Member for Ulawa Ugi constituency in 2014 and again in 2019, and this is his third term in parliament, winning the elections with a total of 1,162 votes, seconded by the former Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID), Mr. Stephen Maesiola, who polled 939 votes, followed by George Titiulu, who polled 687 votes.

A total of nine candidates contested for the Ulawa Ugi constituency parliamentary seat in this year’s Joint Elections.
