PRIME Minister and Political Wing Leader of the OUR Party, honourable Jeremiah Manele MP has addressed the OUR Party Convention in Honiara.
Prime Minister Manele recalled from its humble beginnings in 2006, the OUR Party has grown to become a pillar of stability, governance, and leadership in the Solomon Islands.
“Together, we have built a movement that reflects the values of Ownership, Unity, and Responsibility – principles that have guided us in every decision and every policy we have implemented”.
Among OUR Party’s key achievements are Economic Reform that focuses on developing key sectors- agriculture, fisheries, and tourism which led to significant economic growth in the face of global challenges, Social Development priority- healthcare, education, and social welfare, ensuring that every citizen has access to essential services.
Environmental Stewardship- commitment to good Governance and Democracy sets the standard for political integrity and public service, underlined PM Manele.
He urge OUR Party to be vigilant and always set its sight on a future that depends on political stability, consistency in policy-making, and the continued unity of its members and partners in the Government for National Unity and Transformation, GNUT Coalition.
OUR Party believes in inclusivity and broad representation. “The establishment of our Youth Wing and Women’s Wing are clear examples of this commitment,” stated PM Manele.
He further stressed, the upcoming 2025 budget and the Constituent Assembly Act Amendment Bill 2024 are critical to the Solomon Islands future. These legislative measures reflect the national vision for economic growth, democratic reform, and sustainable development.
He further highlighted, under GNUT, there are huge improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic development.
“Our advocacy for digital transformation, e-commerce, and renewable energy has set the stage for a more modern, resilient economy. We have also made significant strides in promoting land reform, ensuring that resources are managed sustainably, and that landowners’ rights are protected”, explained PM Manele.
The Prime Minister reminds OUR Party to remain focused on its goals in order to cement its legacy as a party of action, integrity, and progress.
Meanwhile, Political Party Founder and Minister of Finance and Treasury, Hon. Manasseh Sogavare MP said, OUR Party was founded on the belief that Solomon Islands deserves a government that truly reflects the will of the people.
Today, OUR Party is one of the most influential political forces in the country, having led two successive governments since 2019.
