MEMBER of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for ‘Ward 2’ in Central West Ngella, Hon Kenneth Sagupari is Central Islands Province (CIP) newly elected Deputy Speaker.

Hon Sagupari securing his newly appointed role was confirmed yesterday after the MPA for CIP’s Ward 2 polled 8 votes over Southwest Ngella’s Ward 5 contestant, Hon James Galini with 5 votes.

On the other hand, Mr Sagupari is also appointed as the chairman for commerce and investment of CIP, as well as appointed as the Policy Unit Advisor under the current Premier’s office.

Hailing from Haroro village, West Big Ngella, the recent 2024 joint election sees Hon Sagupari retaining his position as MPA for a second term in the political arena of the CIP Provincial Assembly after first being elected back in 2019 when he was just 29 years of age.

Hon Kenneth Sagupari in brief is the youngest to be elected as an MPA in the history of CIP back in 2019, as he still is the youngest (34 years of age) to be elected in the current provincial government.

Having come into CIP’s provincial political arena, Mr Sagupari plays a vital role both in the previous Hon Polycarp Galaigu led provincial government and now the present CIP provincial government led by Hon Michael Salini, interestingly through keeping both governments together under the Policy Unit, and being the Chairman of Commerce and Investment to both governments.
