ERICK Sammy Kalae, a 32-year nursing professional, is stepping into the political arena to promote fair representation and integrity in VATUD Constituency, aiming to uplift his remote constituency in Temotu province.

Kalae shared his vision for VATUD, emphasizing the need for equitable governance and equal opportunities for all residents, in an exclusive interview with SUNDAY ISLES.

“When we see people as equals, whether it’s information or resources, everyone must have an equal share,” he stressed, underscoring his commitment to leveling the playing field for every member of the constituency.

Kalae urged his constituents to recognize the power of their ballots and the potential for change as the 2024 Joint Election Day nears April 17. However, he also warned voters against the influence of corruption in the electoral process, cautioning them against trading their voices for short-term gains.

He stressed that citizens’ votes are their voice, urging them to reject corruption and uphold principles of integrity and conscience.

Kalae insisted voters reject financial bribes and maintain moral voting procedures.

“Your willpower is ordained by God and must not be bought with money,” he revealed, revealing the fundamental principles that underpin his campaign.
