The Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) has celebrated its 70th Anniversary Summit 2026 at the Aquatic Centre in Honiara, highlighting seven decades of growth, resilience, and strong partnerships.

The event brought together staff, partners, and stakeholders under the theme celebrating 70 years of connecting the nation and shaping the future.

Chief Executive Officer George Rausi said the milestone reflects the hard work and commitment of many people over the years.

“Our achievements over the 70 years would not have been possible without past employees, the present employees, government stakeholders and the community in which we operate,” Mr. Rausi said.

He said the anniversary is not only a time to look back, but also a moment to focus on the future of the organisation.

“While today is a celebration of our past, it is also a commitment to our future,” he said.

Mr. Rausi encouraged SIPA staff to think about their shared journey and what still lies ahead for the ports sector in the Solomon Islands.

“Let us reflect on the journey we have travelled together and imagine the possibilities that lie ahead,” he said.

He also wished all workers well as they continue to serve the country.

“May the 70th anniversary inspire us all to be building a stronger, more connected and more prosperous Solomon Islands,” he said.
