U.S. Navy Biomedical Engineering Technicians with the Pacific Partnership 2022 mission in the Solomon Islands, have started full troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of high-quality medical equipment at the Good Samaritan Hospital, in Tetere, North Guadalcanal.

The technicians have this week played an important role at the Good Samaritan Hospital in ensuring all their necessary laboratory and therapeutic units are timely repaired and effectively maintained for usage at the hospital.

U.S. Navy Pacific Partnership, Lieutenant Commander, Nurse Planner, Kim Hendricks told local journalists that the U.S. navy biomedical engineering technicians have successfully carried out troubleshooting and repair of medical electronic instruments like autopsy examination equipment, microscope, blood pressure machine, slit lamp, and Sp02 medical charger at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

“I can ensure that our technicians are fully equipped to maintain and repair medical equipment,” Lt. Cmdr. Kim Hendricks said. “Our technicians are responsible to make sure the medical equipment is safe, properly maintained, and ready for patient care.”

The Good Samaritan Hospital is about 30km away from Honiara. It serves the people of North, North-East, East-Central and Central Guadalcanal.

On a similar note, the U.S. Navy Pacific Partnership, Lieutenant commander, Nurse Planner Kim Hendricks said over the past two days while working with local medical professionals of the Good Samaritan Hospital and they manage to see and carried out some minor surgical procedures with 10 diabetic patients at the hospital.

The Pacific Partnership is in its seventh iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
