For so many years Solomon Island teachers are being treated as adopted sons of the national government.
This was highlighted by the Solomon Islands National Teachers Association (SINTA) Acting President Mr Frank Robolite’e in his speech at the World Teachers Day celebration event last Friday.
Mr Robolite’e stressed for so many years, teachers were remaining on the same level, with no promotion, and no better working condition, and were being treated as adopted sons of the national government, compared to the public servants who are being treated as biological sons and enjoy all the privileges.

The SINTA acting president declared that enough is enough and that it is time that teachers now plead the government and the responsible ministry to please treat them fairly as everybody else.
“Today, I’m standing here as the SINTAs Acting President , declaring that enough is enough, It is time we now plead the government and the responsible ministry to please treat us fairly, as everybody else,” he said.
“In 2025 and beyond, something needs to be done here about this injustice. It’s enough now, we can’t carry this burden anymore,” he said.
The Acting President highlighted his acknowledgement to the Honourable Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele and his government for National Unity Transformation Unit for the Master Agreement providing a clear framework for implementation signed recently.
He said yet the teachers are now anticipating the timing of implementation since 2026 and 2027, and quite late in time.
Mr Robolite’e said that teachers understand that this happened because some policies need to be sorted out, but sometimes, their patience too can be overused as a measure against them at the end of the day.
“But now, this needs to be stopped as well. Our voice needs to be heard as well, just like the other public servants, the nurses, the police because we are saving one government only” he said.
“Our only hope and wish is that the government continues to honour the master agreement signed and sealed on Friday 29 August 2025,” Mr Robolite’e said.
The Acting President also encouraged teachers to must continue to be united as one and remain in solidarity and t be resilient and honest in their duty.
“We must always be members of union, which is SINTA as the only medium that we can carry our voice to the highest office of a national government. We must be resilient and honest in our duty, as we are saving the interest of our children, the parents, the government of Solomon Island, and most of all, our Yahweh God Almighty,” said the SINTA Acting President.
